ask me how I know...

My pretty glass pitcher did not hold up well to making tea today.  Something about hot liquids?  I remembered when I heard a loud "crack" while pouring the freshly brewed tea into it.  Sigh.  Lesson learned.
Fortunately Elizabeth had already texted me earlier asking if I could use a glass pitcher.  She was cleaning out a cabinet and came across two she never uses.   All is not lost!   Next time I just need to remember to make my tea in the old Tupperware pitcher, then pour into the pretty glass one.  ;)

feel like I'm drifting away...

I haven't been posting much lately, I don't have much to say.  But I keep coming back.  :)

Yesterday my patio cover was painted.  Feels a lot bigger and brighter than the bare wood.  The next step is to figure out a bit of landscaping for the yard around it.  I've thought about sodding it, and also like the idea of raised flower beds.  Might even do a combination of the two.  Got to think on it a bit more.

One of the last projects I made is a thread catcher.  This was one of the Friday night classes recently, and it was fun.  It's designed with the idea of putting it either by your sewing machine, or where you do handwork, and you can put your snippets of thread in it.  But Liz had the idea of putting one in the car.   My friend Linda liked that idea so much that she made one Saturday at our quilting bee, and it was in use in her car when she left.  The original has a 4x4 tile for weight to put on the table, with the bag hanging down.  Linda improvised with a rock, since the console's design wouldn't accommodate the tile.   I didn't get a pic of Linda's, but here's the one I made and gave to Nolene.  I just love the fabric with the Indian centered on the front.
And I'll finish this off with a picture of Elise eating her first ever (at least at Gram's house) Oreo cookie.  Ah, nothin' says lovin' like an Oreo cookie...and a glass of milk!
